Bombay Bags began in Vancouver, Canada in 2007, at a time when reusable tote bags were still rare in many North American grocery and retail settings.
The original problem
Everyday bags were too often disposable, forgettable, poorly made, and harmful to the places people loved. We believed reusable bags could be designed with more care.
The early proof
One of our first major opportunities came when Oakridge Mall in Vancouver asked us to design a custom jute tote for its annual fashion show. Customers loved the bag, used it daily, and asked where they could buy more.
That project shaped the Bombay Bags path: reusable bags should combine utility, taste, responsibility, and intent.
