Clear Totes help provide a safer environment for the public, and to expedite entry into the many concert venues and professional & college sports stadiums /arenas. Different Sporting event venues have their own policy that limits the size and type of bag allowed for. Most commonly allowed Clear Tote bags include:
- Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC tote bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”.
- One-gallon clear plastic storage bags.
- Small Clutch Purses 4.5” X 6.5” or smaller
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to: backpacks, camera cases, luggage, tinted plastic bags, mesh bags, over sized purses, or any bag larger than the permissible size. An exception is usually made for medically necessary items and diaper bags after proper inspection. These bags are tagged to inform venue security that the bag has been cleared by the gate inspection member and to limit any disturbance to the patron once inside the stadium.
The main objective of the Clear totes is to enhance public safety and improve efficiency in crowd flow. Limiting the size and style of bags carried into venues helps maintain a safe and secure environment for the event patrons, staff, and players. Clear bags allow security staff to do a quick visual look at the contents of the bag without having to have the event patrons stop and open the bag. This allows to quickly identify and prohibit entry of any prohibited items.
Each patron (including children) is usually allowed one clear bag and other permissible items, such as small cameras, binoculars, smart phones, seat backs, and blankets can also be carried into the athletic venue, either on their own or in a clear plastic storage bag.
